Purpose of This Notice
The Highly Aligned Career Cohort (HACC) is committed to handling personal information responsibly, transparently, and in line with applicable data protection laws. This Privacy & Data Notice explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, and the rights participants have in relation to their data.
This notice applies to all HACC participants, applicants, and contributors.
What Information We Collect
We may collect and process the following types of personal information:
Application and onboarding details: name, email address, country, timezone, and participation confirmations.
Programme-related information: attendance records, engagement with live Zoom sessions, and participation in the WhatsApp community.
Reflective inputs: responses to onboarding reflections and pre- and post-cohort assessments.
Communications: emails or messages sent to the HACC team in relation to the cohort.
HACC does not intentionally collect sensitive personal data beyond what participants voluntarily share within reflective exercises or group discussions.
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely for purposes connected with the delivery and improvement of HACC, including:
administering the cohort and confirming participation
communicating important information about sessions and activities
facilitating learning, reflection, and community engagement
reviewing anonymised insights to improve future cohorts
We do not use participant data for unrelated marketing purposes without explicit consent.
Lawful Basis for Processing
HACC processes personal data on the basis of:
consent, provided through application and onboarding forms
legitimate interests, where processing is necessary to deliver and manage the cohort experience
Participants may withdraw consent at any time, subject to programme requirements.
Data Storage & Access
Personal data is stored securely using reputable digital tools and platforms.
Access to participant data is limited to authorised HACC facilitators and administrators.
Data is retained only for as long as necessary to deliver the cohort and meet reasonable administrative or legal obligations.
Recordings & Community Spaces
Some live Zoom sessions may be recorded for internal cohort use. Where recordings take place, participants will be informed in advance.
Breakout rooms and personal sharing are not recorded.
WhatsApp messages and interactions are part of a third-party platform and are subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy policies. Participants are encouraged to exercise discretion when sharing personal information.
Data Sharing
HACC does not sell, rent, or trade personal data.
Personal data is not shared with third parties except:
where required to operate essential programme tools (e.g. email, Zoom)
where legally required
International Participants
HACC welcomes participants from multiple countries. Data handling practices are designed to align with UK GDPR, GDPR and relevant international standards, including Nigeria’s NDPR, where applicable.
Your Rights
Participants have the right to:
request access to their personal data
request correction of inaccurate information
request deletion of their data, subject to programme and legal requirements
withdraw consent for future processing
